Friends,

A busy road trip enabled LFF to connect with several new and old friends throughout Louisiana this week. I kicked off the tour with a TV interview with KAJN Talk. I was privileged to join Pastor John Lary and his lovely bride Gretchen at Calvary Baptist in Shreveport for their midweek service. I was encouraged by Calvary's enthusiasm and response to my challenge!

Thursday morning, we were back at Calvary for a breakfast gathering of pastors, lawmakers, and business leaders to present LFF honors to deserving legislators from the north Louisiana area. Congratulations to Senators Gatti and Milkovich and Representatives Bagley, Crews, and Seabaugh.

The next stop was Pineville with Dr. Stewart Holloway at the historic First Baptist Church where Senator Gerald Long received his Patrick Henry before much of the Louisiana Baptist Executive team, including Executive Director, Dr. David Hankins. Also present were our good friends, Dr. Will Hall of the Baptist Message, Dr. Chuck Fountain, District Superintendent of the Louisiana District Church of the Nazarene, Right to Life Outreach Director Brian Gunter and a host of other pastors and business leaders. Special thanks to Pineville City Councilman, Pastor Nathan Martin, who helped publicize the meeting.

I circled back to Lafayette Thursday night for The Acadiana Patriots meeting, led by Jim Crumling, for a time of strategy and assessment of Louisiana's current political situation. Of particular concern, the ongoing drama surrounding the drag queen attempt to access children at the Lafayette library. Yesterday, a federal judge recommended dismissing the drag queen story time lawsuit because the plaintiffs lack standing. Hopefully, the library will act prudently and not resume their promotion of this event.
