LFF Summer Challenge

July 6, 2018

Friends,

I trust that your 4th of July celebration was both meaningful and memorable! To many residents in southeast Louisiana, the celebration continues with good news from Congressman Garret Graves that Louisiana has secured nearly $1.4 billion in federal funds necessary to complete the long-awaited Comite River Diversion Canal and other flood and hurricane protection projects.

LFF certainly can attest to a meaningful and memorable 2018! So far, we have registered 45 Wins with major victories on the 15-week abortion ban, protecting campus free speech, and defeating Harrah’s 30-year contract renewal.

Now, with an open seat on the U.S. Supreme Court and a nominee expected Monday, pro-family forces are preparing to marshal support to move the nomination through the Senate confirmation process. Perhaps that open seat on SCOTUS, followed by next year’s 50 open seats in the Louisiana legislature due to term limits, provides an unprecedented opportunity to advance pro-family policy and write Louisiana’s best chapter!

Frankly, that’s why I’m writing to you today. You see, LFF left everything on the field throughout three legislative sessions in 2018. I mean that in every respect – including financially! Now, with the prospect of an originalist Supreme Court justice being nominated for the open seat, the next generation of our nation’s jurisprudence will be determined, hopefully with input from LFF. Right now, the legal theory of a ‘living constitution’ is on life support! The idea of a constitution which morphs into whatever five robed justices deem it deserves an official ‘death certificate.’ With your help, LFF has many more wins to procure this year!

To get us through to the finish line, we have launched a Summer Challenge. To restore the reservoirs and renew this team’s ability to provide a voice, we need to raise $25,000 in new support – above and beyond regular monthly giving – $12,500 of which has already been realized. If you believe in LFF’s mission, we need you to invest now.

Would you consider sowing a seed into Team LFF today? Every gift helps and is greatly appreciated.

Please, prayerfully consider sending your most generous gift to 655 St Ferdinand Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802 or make a secure online donation here.

Thank you again for loaning your influence and keeping LFF’s voice strong for Louisiana families.

In His Service,

Gene Mills

P.S. – I am headed to D.C next week to meet with members of the U.S. Senate on criminal justice reform, specifically the First Step Act. I will be accompanied by my friend, Prison Fellowship Vice President Craig DeRoach. I also will be in strategy sessions with key Congressional leaders to resolve the family crisis on our borders. Please pray for successful meetings.
