Dear Friend,

While Republicans appear supportive of a veto override session, Gov. Edwards, the Senate Democrats, and other outside groups are working overtime to prevent the session. Opponents say Louisiana would be "breaking tradition" if the session is held. Yes, the session will be historic, but that’s not the reason to return; fixing JBE’s error - which erases women - is a valid reason to return! Besides, it's built into the constitution!

LFF has strongly advocated for critical bills like Election Integrity, Constitutional Carry and the Fairness in Women's Sports Act. You have been contacting your representatives all year, encouraging them to support these bills, and we need you to continue – especially now in the likely veto override session.

We recently reached out to faith leaders in Louisiana and asked them to sign a petition to call upon legislators to vote in favor of the veto override session and support the Fairness in Women's Sports Act. Despite only being live for a few days, the petition has already garnered almost 400 signatures from pastors throughout Louisiana!

Spread the word! Invite your pastor to sign on here>>>

Good News on National Front: the IRS reversed course and will grant tax-exempt status to a Christian non-profit whose status was previously rejected:

"Following legal pressure and significant backlash on social media, the Internal Revenue Service on Wednesday reversed course to grant a Christian nonprofit organization tax-exempt status. The IRS had previously rejected the status to the group, known as Christians Engaged, arguing its mission of educating and empowering Christians to engage in America's civics process was partisan by default since Christians usually align with Republican candidates [emphasis added]...But the nonprofit didn't take the news lying down. It responded with a legal challenge to the rejection, enlisting help from religious liberty law firm First Liberty Institute, which filed an appeal last month. On Wednesday, First Liberty Institute announced in a press release that the IRS had changed its mind following a review of the matter.”

This is why we speak up, friends. If we just remain silent, the IRS and other bureaucrats will bear rule without consideration for the people or the US Constitution. This time, Uncle Sam’s tax collector nephew was rebuked and forced to reconsider.

We’re...coming for your children?

That’s right - the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus released a music video which includes lyrics like, “we’ll convert your children,” and, “we’re coming for your children.”

For a long time, parents across the country have expressed concern about the LGBT agenda becoming more and more radical. Those parents are often dismissed as homophobic, but this music video only justifies that concern. The video leaves no doubt about the ambitions of the radical LGBT lobby.

LFF will always fight to protect Louisiana families, and we remain engaged in a battle for the heart and soul of our state. Without engagement from patriots like you, things wouldn’t happen. The governor’s ill-advised vetoes would have stood without a fight. The IRS would have gotten away with its religious discrimination. The threatening music video from the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus would have remained uncriticized.

Instead, the battle is fully engaged.

I wish each of you and your families a restful weekend.

In His Service,

Gene Mills
