LFF Visits DeRidder Sunday – Join Us!

July 27, 2018

Friends,

Team LFF is excited for the opportunity to take the LFF message on the road this summer! I will be at the First United Pentecostal Church of DeRidder this Sunday for a chance to visit with our southwest Louisiana friends! The church is located at 120 Mahlon Street. We will start with a "meet and greet" at 3:00 pm, followed by a town hall briefing on LFF’s work promoting life, liberty, and limited government, and then have a Q & A session. Please join us as I share our vision for the upcoming season. I’d also love to hear your thoughts and concerns.

LFF Calls for Federal Funding on Abortion to End

Louisiana Family Forum joined other family policy councils in a public statement to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to sever funding from organizations that participate in abortions. Planned Parenthood, America's largest abortion provider, receives tens of millions of federal taxpayer dollars annually to provide family planning services. Although family planning funds do not directly pay for abortions – staff, facilities, and equipment are indirectly used to provide abortion services and related activities. The Trump administration has proposed a rule to force greater separation of the services. Louisiana has taken similar action prohibiting public funding for entities that provide abortions.

Please Support Our Summer Challenge!

The Summer months are historically lean for us and we value your financial support. Our team maintains a watch daily, reminding lawmakers and media alike of the value of healthy marriages, the importance of religious freedom, the integral role that parents play in shaping their children's education, and the necessity of a government that is limited in power. Please consider donating to LFF online here. Thank you.

Call to Prayer:

Christians are called to pray for 'all who are in authority' – 1 Timothy 2:2. Judge Brett Kavanaugh is a powerful reminder of how important it is to pray. If confirmed, Kavanaugh would impact U.S. law on everything from abortion to religious freedom.

Here are a few ways to pray:

  • Ask God to give the Senate Judiciary Committee wisdom as they meet Judge Kavanaugh and to expose of opinions contrary to His Word.
  • Pray that the Lord will bless Judge Kavanaugh and his loved ones with endurance and strength during this intense process.
  • Thank God for a Supreme Court that will adhere to Biblical values and pray for a smooth confirmation process.

See you in DeRidder,
