LFF Summer Challenge - Almost Complete! August 3, 2018 Friends, As LFF celebrates its 20th Anniversary, I reflect with gratitude on the Lord’s provision through the years. For the next chapter, we pledge to build on this legacy, honoring the principles and values upon which we were founded. Look around, and you can see that we face unrelenting opposition from pro-abortion forces, big government, anti-religionists and others who want to silence our voice. LFF pledges - we will not go silent. We will not retreat and we will expose the darkness with as much light as we can bring! Now is the time to advance with: a respect-life ethic, religious liberty, and a limited role of government in our lives. Much has been accomplished in 20 years, yet still, there is so much work to be done. LFF has been successful because of the dedication of our stakeholders – churches, families, and businesses who recognize that our voices are heard loudest when we speak as one. Still, we must resist the urge to rest on past achievements and forge ahead with a pro-growth vision to meet the challenges to come. Unfortunately, we face political opposition whose financial war chests exceed our modest means. For instance, a message war will be waged state-wide this Fall over whether internet fantasy sports betting should be available to every man, woman, and child in Louisiana. Imagine if LFF Action could square off against Draft Kings or Fan Duels for the electorate’s attention. If we are to remain a force in this arena, with excellence, we need to build, grow and develop our financial storehouse. Team LFF worked ten consecutive legislative sessions in 2 1/2 years! We won a ton of battles – but at a huge cost. We fired every bullet and expended every resource - leaving It all on the field - and none of us would have it any other way. Now, I need your help to 'reload!' Our Summer Challenge is almost completed. I want to thank those who have loaned their voices and invested in our team through this challenge. The issues we face going forward will shape the world for generations. Will we see an abortion-free Louisiana? Will we have the right to live, work, and speak consistently with our faith? Will state government be right-sized? Will we end or expand gambling in Louisiana? Will parents have good choices for their children’s education? Will LFF be able to contend for these important policies? The answer depends on what we do now. |
