President Trump and Melania have tested positive for COVID-19. What does this mean for the nation? ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Dear Friend,

Early this morning, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump announced that they have tested positive for coronavirus and will be spending the next two weeks in quarantine and away from the public and their staffs. Biden reported that his basement was unavailable.

At the moment, they are asymptomatic, though symptoms can develop over the first two weeks of infection. Please pray for those in the White House, including the staff of President Trump and Vice President Pence, who will have to keep things running while fighting the virus – and just a month from the general election.

As of Thursday night, the #LouisianaBlessing video has been viewed more than 18,000 times across all platforms. This is fantastic news, as our state and nation are in greater need of prayer than ever before. If you haven’t already done so, watch and share the video and use the hashtag #LouisianaBlessing!

Here are a few other stories we think deserve some attention as you head into your weekend:

The Small Business Administration has announced that PPP loan forgiveness program will begin within the next week. This is welcome news for business owners and companies who were able to utilize these funds during the COVID shutdowns.

The media is already using President Trump’s positive COVID-19 test as a justification to push for the delay of Amy Coney Barrett’s SCOTUS nomination process. Easy response: move meetings with Senators onto Zoom and move it along!

The next presidential debate is in flux after the president’s positive COVID test as well, however, earlier in the day, the Trump campaign called foul on the Commission on Presidential Debate’s plan to have a former Biden intern moderate.

LFF’s team is working tirelessly to prepare LouisianaVoterGuide.org and voter education materials, including non-partisan voter guides -- which are due out next week! If you’d like to contribute towards that effort as we work to reach voters across our state, please click here.

Thank you, as always, for your loyal support of LFF!
