Lafayette Drag Queen Story Hour Terminated!

October 5, 2018

Lafayette library officials still insist on the benefit of hosting a program that exposes 3-6-year-old children to a perverted sexual themed event: “With the loss of the host site, the library is forced to postpone the program until a new venue can be secured. While this is a temporary setback, the Lafayette Public Library confirms that it is not permanently canceling the program. The library administration and its Board of Control firmly believe in carrying out its mission to serve a diverse community. In addition, many families have stood in support of this program which promotes respect and inclusiveness.” Click here to read more.

SLCC, the community college that offered to host the drag queens, cited concerns about safety, potential protests and large crowds as the reasons for canceling the event at its campus.

While today’s news is welcomed - work remains! Library Director Teresa Elberson, needs to be dismissed of her duties pending library control board promulgating staff advocacy rules, clarify chain of command, and instituting disciplinary policies for infractions.

Contact your Lafayette legislative delegation and let them know it’s time to intervene:

Kavanaugh Confirmation Nears!

The Senate held a crucial vote this morning on whether to advance Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. In a 51 to 49 vote, the chamber voted to invoke cloture, which prevents a Democrat filibuster. Debate is now limited to 30 hours, meaning the final vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation will take place late Saturday afternoon.

While 51votes are expected, Vice President Mike Pence is on standby to break a tie on the final vote. In an interesting development, Senator Steve Daines says he will be walking his daughter down the aisle in Montana on Saturday. He also noted in his statement that we will have a new U.S. Supreme Court Justice on Saturday!

Last night, Judge Kavanaugh reminded the American people of his reverence for the Constitution and his belief that an independent and impartial judiciary is essential to our constitutional republic. “If confirmed by the Senate to serve on the Supreme Court, I will keep an open mind in every case and always strive to preserve the Constitution of the United States and the American rule of law.”

Join LFF in praying Psalm 40 over Judge Kavanaugh and his family today!

Did you know that over 2500 babies are aborted every year at Delta abortion Clinic in Baton Rouge? You can do something about that! Come pray outside Delta during 40 Days for Life. And witness miracles happen!

40 Days for Life is the largest international, interdenominational pro-life prayer gathering in history. All over the world, churches pray outside their local abortion facility from September 26 to November 4. A church will adopt a day, or just a few hours to pray, and members come and go throughout the day to pray. If you or your church would like to participate, go to and follow sign up instructions. Or call Clelie Carpenter, Coordinator, at 224-954-4875 to facilitate the process.
