I Am Louisiana
I am the little house on the levee, barefoot kids, an old mimosa tree & cold watermelon on hot summer day,
I am Friday night lights, district games, boosters, and the halftime show,
I Am Brees, Burrow, Bert, and the Honey Badger.
I am the Mighty Mississippi – from the Arkansas line to Venice Redfish Rodeo.
I am faith that thrives, family that loves, freedom that celebrates, and a wet fishing line!
I Am Louisiana.
I live large and play hard;
I believe big and pray on my knees,
In Jesus’ Name.
I am an old chocolate lab name "Roux" and a new baby boy we call “Boo”,
I'm the melting pot of Cajun, Creole, German, Spain, Africa, Vietnam, and Mexico,
I am strong, French drip coffee, pan-pan-du, shrimp and grits, and corn maque choux.
I am Saturday night in Death Valley, My Sunday best for worship, followed by a family BBQ,
I am my mom's firstborn son, old Maw Maw’s favorite one, and my 2nd grade teacher’s 1st love
I am the first split of teal season, the rut, the playoffs, and Harvest time
The season the ole’ Frenchmen called Jubilee,
Because it offers some of the best of what God provides for you and me!
I am laughter, a crawfish boil, long family visits, and longer goodbyes,
I am Sunset to Sunshine, Shreveport to Shell Beach, Monroe to Mowata,
and everything in between.
I Am Louisiana
I respect the thin blue line, the men in uniform, the man on the combine & my Daddy’s dreams,
I am early to rise, a full day's work,
A son, a father, a grandfather, an uncle, a Pa'rain, and friend.
I am Louisiana, where God is honored, life is celebrated, families flourish, and liberty reigns!
