Governor John Bel Edwards, at LFF's prompting, announced a three-day prayer and lunchtime fasting event that started on Monday and lasts through tomorrow. This is a great opportunity for faithful Christians to come together and appeal to God for relief from COVID-19 and for provision for those whose lives and livelihoods have been most affected.
Please consider joining us for the remainder of this prayer event. Special thanks to Pastor Neil Bernard at New Wine Fellowship for initiating this call to prayer.
Four months after passing the CARES Act and authorizing the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) – providing cash payments and grants to people struggling from the COVID-19 shutdowns – Congress is back in session to discuss another relief package. La.’s Senator John Kennedy is sounding the alarm, however, over the fiscal peril which awaits any nation that spends without restriction.
“We don’t have enough money, we can’t borrow enough money to buy the American economy,” Senator Kennedy said. “We have spent so much money we are going to run out of digits here if we are not careful.”
Safety nets are best when not frayed. Stay tuned to see how Congress balances immediate needs with long-term fiscal sustainability.
A new round of polling conducted by Notre Dame shows that Americans continue to trend away from supporting abortion – even as media and Hollywood parades the choice to kill a baby as a “human right.”
The new numbers show that a majority (65%) said abortion should only be completely illegal or legal only in certain circumstances. While this is a great development, it’s not the most surprising data point. The researchers said ALL participants did not find abortion to be a desirable thing or a happy thing or something they want more of.
This is a huge departure from the narrative pushed by abortion advocates, and it proves that enthusiastic support for the practice is far from widespread.
You probably haven’t heard much about the churches burned last week, but several have been destroyed by arsonists. Additionally, a statue of Christ was decapitated by radicals who said following arrest that they were on a “mission.”
It’s important to note that most of the U.S. protesters who make the nightly newscast are self-avowed Marxists who believe that religious has no place in the world. If you don’t see these arson attacks as an attack on your faith, you should.
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
