Louisiana's Congressmen and Senators are stepping up for us in major ways. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

A little over a month ago, media outlets released lists of companies and organizations that had received more than $150,000 in Paycheck Protection Program funding – a program designed to send critical aid to small businesses and non-profits at risk of layoffs or forced furloughs as a result of the economic shutdown. Soon thereafter, it was reported that Planned Parenthood affiliates – America’s leading abortion providers – had applied for and received – more than $151 million in taxpayer dollars.

Enter, Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson.

Johnson sent a letter last week to the Small Business Administration, asking if those funds have been disbursed, and whether or not any had been recovered. America deserve to know if their dollars were used, illegally, to underwrite abortion operations.

Monday morning, Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy teamed up with 26 other U.S. Senators in asking the U.S. Department of Justice to provide an update to its investigation on Planned Parenthood’s sale of fetal baby parts.

“As we have seen from invoices from certain Planned Parenthood affiliates, biomedical companies paid thousands of dollars in exchange for fetal organs from abortions,” the senators wrote. “Planned Parenthood and any biomedical companies involved must be held accountable for their lucrative and illegal activities involving the trafficking and sale of fetal tissue.”

Cassidy had previously sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr in May asking the DOJ to investigate Planned Parenthood’s claim on the PPP dollars explained above.

Left-of-center, D.C.-based political publication The Hill reports that COVID cases are continuing to decline in the United States! This is great news for SEC Football and Tiger fans who are adamant that this season should go forward! Louisiana’s economy has struggled to recover from forced shutdowns. America needs to get back to work. "We have no plan B," said Coach Orgeron. "Let's play ball!"

See Coach Orgeron's interview on FoxNews here. SO, LSU PLAY BALL!

Unlike leaders of other states, Governor Edwards has prudently encouraged pastors and faith leaders take the lead in making decisions on behalf of their congregations. Now, his office is requesting the faith community to participate fully in completing the 2020 Census.

As you may know, the 2020 Census will determine Louisiana’s share of Federal dollars to improve our state roads, hospitals, fire departments, and schools based on the number of legal residents. The results of the census also determine congressional representation & much more.

Every citizen and legal resident should be counted – from infant to elderly – our congregations count. The deadline is September 30, 2020 – right now, state leaders say that La’s participation is lagging behind the rest of the country. If you haven’t already, you can complete the Census now by either going online to my2020census.gov or by calling 844-330-2020.
