Dear Friends

In a one-on-one interview, Rep. Steve Scalise sat down to discuss priorities in Congress:

Energy policy, the IRS, and Social Security are all on the agenda.

Religious Liberty Victories Roll On!

On Friday, the US Supreme Court announced it would hear another major religious freedom case during the upcoming term: Groff v. Dejoy.

As our friends at PA Family explain, "Gerald Groff loves God, loves his family and loved being a mailman in Lancaster County. A former missionary, he prioritized a job that would not force him to work on Sundays." (The Lord's Day!)

They continue: "When the United States Postal Service started delivery service on Sunday, Gerald Groff sought a religious accommodation in order to follow his religious convictions about the Sunday Sabbath. His case has now made it all the way to our nation’s highest court."

Keep Gerald Groff and this case in your prayers!

Jeff Landry along with 21 other state attorneys general sent a letter to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) urging them to reverse the decision that allows local pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens to distribute abortion pills.

The letter reads:

The Food and Drug Administration’s decision to abandon commonsense restrictions on remotely prescribing and administering abortion-inducing drugs is both illegal and dangerous. In direct contravention of longstanding FDA practice and congressional mandate, the FDA’s rollback of important safety restrictions ignores both women’s health and straightforward federal statutes. We urge you to reverse your decision.

The FDA’s responsibility is women’s health, not pharmaceutical profits via abortion.

State Representative Dodie Horton wants to make sure Louisiana children get the message!

KPEL reports:

In 2019, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards signed into law a bill that would require the national motto to be displayed in every state public school, according to wafb.com. But when state representative Horton asked her grandchildren if they had ever seen a sign bearing "In God We Trust," they told her they had not. So, Horton decided it was time to amend the current law.
...

Rep. Horton told our news partners at Louisiana Radio Network that House Bill 8 is "one of the most non-controversial bills that you’ll see my name attached to" and that the proposed legislation will also apply to postsecondary institutions. She says the bill won't require public funds to purchase the displays and that "donation drive(s) or...other groups (could) supply our public schools with these posters."

Friend,Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen recently commented during an interview that since Damar Hamlin’s cardiac emergency and subsequent recovery, "[there has been] just kind of a spiritual awakening for, really for me, and I know for a lot of other people that maybe didn't have the strongest belief or weren't the … strongest Christian followers.”

He continued, “I'll be the first to admit I haven't been the most devoted Christ-follower in my life. And I've had my different beliefs and thoughts and ideas and stuff like that. But something got a hold of me there. And it was extremely powerful that I couldn't deny."

Let’s pray that this spiritual awakening is contagious!

In His Service,
