May 2, 2023 Dear Friends, LFF is working overtime with Louisiana legislators to pass vital faith & family friendly public policy! Obligatory battles at the Capitol include the nefarious bills which also require our undivided attention and an early conclusion! This is a busy week for those bills and others. Keep an eye on the most important bills to watch here. --- In other Louisiana news: Louisiana’s three most populated cities, New Orleans, Shreveport & Baton Rouge, made national news when Money Geek released its Top Ten Most Dangerous Cities in America. 2021 FBI data was used for the rankings and LSU Health New Orleans Criminologist Dr. Peter Scharf said if violent crime isn’t addressed it will only create more problems for Louisiana. A Quick National Snapshot: - The “Groomers” are winning: According to a recently released report from the CDC, as of 2021, one in four high school students identify as LGBTQ. This represents a massive spike from just 11% of high school students identifying as such in 2015. What accounts for this growth in gender dysphoria among America's youth? The short answer is culture indoctrination and grooming. For example, Democrat legislators in Minnesota are seeking to change the legal definition of "sexual orientation" to be based on expressed identity and not biological sex. Even more disturbingly, they aim to eliminate any negative associations surrounding pedophilia. There's one word to describe this: grooming.

As we know, faith among Americans is declining rapidly. A new study conducted by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University confirms this, reporting that since the start of the pandemic, the percentage of adult Americans that possess a biblical worldview dropped from whopping 6% to 4%! The study found that fewer people say they are “deeply committed to practicing” their faith in 2023 compared to 2020 and 20% fewer Americans “believe they have a unique, God-given calling or purpose for their life.” The good news is that those who are devout Christians (The Remnant) are making a substantial impact in the political sphere. In 2020, 99% of spiritually active and politically engaged conservatives turned out to vote! “I’ve been doing this in politics for 40 something years now...I’ve never seen anything like this. So it’s unprecedented. But it’s because they feel that this is an urgent time. This is not a time to sit back. If you care about the country, if you care about the kingdom, you’ve got to dig in.” (emphasis added) -George Barna, Director of Research at Cultural Research Center
Friend, thank you for your continued support as we work with our legislators to advance Christian values in Louisiana. While conservative legislation is crucial, only a cultural return to God can preserve our sacred liberties and provide true freedom. We need to boldly live out the Christian faith and share the Truth in love!
