Dear Friends

In major Louisiana news, Governor Edwards signed Sen. Katrina Jackson's SB 342 which will go into effect immediately upon the overturning Roe v. Wade!

The Louisiana legislature has left the Capitol, unable to reach an agreement regarding the craftsmanship of congressional district lines. The federal judge claims she may simply draw the new congressional map herself.

Judge Shelly Dick, an Obama appointee, argues that she gave the majority GOP state legislature more than enough time to resolve the dispute

Judge Dick is determined to see the 1/3 of Louisiana’s population represented by a new majority-minority congressional district, even if it meanders across the entire state in a non-cohesive, non-contiguous manner as required by law and court precedent. This issue will likely be resolved before the United States Supreme Court.

A recent Gallup survey reports that Americans’ view of moral values in the United States is at an all-time low. The pessimism is felt on both sides, but is felt most profoundly by conservatives.

It is well known that Americans feel extremely disconnected from fellow citizens and that political polarization is at an all-time high. People no longer feel an attachment to either community or religious affiliation.

All sides agree that civility is deteriorating but vastly disagree on the moral values needed to restore. Relativism has eroded the biblical foundations America once celebrated but now we are witnessing a tolerance-at-all-costs viewpoint, which justifies vice with the excuse that we ought not “judge!” Good and evil are real.

The believer’s task is to bring the light of the Gospel to everyone!

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and Missouri’s Attorney General filed a motion of preliminary injunction to stop Big Tech from colluding with the Biden administration in relation to speech censorship. AGs Landry and Schmitt argue that the administration partners with Silicon Valley Big Tech firms including Meta (Facebook), Twitter, YouTube, and others to censor speech that the administration finds “problematic.”

Big Tech has aligned with the ‘progressive’ left, censoring content which is non- conducive to the ‘progressive’ political agenda. Take, for example, when Twitter blocked the Hunter Biden laptop story shortly before the 2020 presidential election. Speech which the left disagrees is by default deemed “discriminatory”.

Free speech is a founding pillar that the U.S. is built upon, but many elites hold that the idea of ‘free speech’ is malleable for their political purposes.

Kudos to Landry and Schmitt for advocating to preserve America’s essential liberties!

Friends, we expect the Dobbs decision to be released by the end of next week. Please pray for the safety of the justices, pro-life organizations, and the nation at large during these tumultuous times!

P.S. Did you know Baton Rouge Parks & Recreation (BREC) is hosting a Sold Out “Drag Me to Brunch” cocktail event, including kids?  Here is how they rationalize:

“Why wait for Sunday to get your bestest and baddest friends together for brunch? Let's break all the rules and brunch on Saturday! High energy performances, amazing food and of course MIMOSAS! All ages are welcome... And don’t forget to bring some cash to tip the performers!”

Lord, help us!
