 | September 13, 2022 Dear Friends, This past Sunday, September 11, was the 21st anniversary of that tragic day when terrorists attacked America. Today, let’s take a few minutes to remember and pray for the American heroes who responded, the people who died and all the friends and family who lost someone dear to them that day. There were 2,993 people killed that day, including 10 preborn babies. Hundreds of thousands more were impacted, including those who valiantly fought in two wars. There were firefighters and EMTs who rushed to the Twin Towers in New York City, volunteers who spent days trying to find lost bodies and thousands of others who donated time, money and resources to helping the city and the nation rebuild. Then there were those brave people who redirected a plane headed for the U.S. Capitol to Shanksville, Pennsylvania instead. Many of your kids and grandkids were born after 9/11. I hope you’ll share with them why 9/11 is an important day. May we never lose the memories of those impacted by that tragic day. And if you need something uplifting, this Lee Greenwood “God Bless the U.S.A.” song always gives me goosebumps. | | | | California Democrats are coming after parental rights, this time with a bill that would make it legal for Louisiana children to go to California and get pumped full of puberty blockers or have their body parts removed without their parent’s knowledge. Senate Bill 107 will give California courts “temporary emergency jurisdiction,” according to National Review, “over any child in, and any person who may bring the child to, California for the purpose of obtaining harmful interventions on children’s minds and bodies.” You read that right – SB 107 could potentially give California courts jurisdiction over your child in Louisiana. Most children grow out of their gender dysphoria after puberty. We must protect kids and parents from this harmful ideology. | | | | MSNBC host Joe Scarborough erroneously declared himself a biblical scholar recently, claiming that Jesus never talked about abortion and implying our Savior would have been fine with the intentional killing of millions of babies a year through legalized abortion. “I still know the Bible. Jesus never once talked about abortion, never once! And it was happening back in ancient times, it was happening during, in his time!" Scarborough claimed. "Never once mentioned it, and for people perverting the gospel of Jesus Christ down to one issue, it’s heresy.” The Church, based on the teachings of Christ, has consistently condemned abortion throughout the centuries. Mr. Scarborough should crack open up his Bible to Isaiah 5:20. “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter” and Jeremiah 23:36: “But you must not mention ‘a message from the LORD’ again, because each one’s word becomes their own message. So you distort the words of the living God, the LORD Almighty, our God. | | | Friend,, I’ll only mention it a few more times! In the days since Queen Elizabeth's passing, I and many others have had time to reflect on her Christian legacy. Her passing may very well signal a shift in the global political landscape, as she was one of the remaining stalwart Christian leaders of the world. As a young Queen, she commented, "To what greater inspiration and counsel can we turn than to the imperishable truth to be found in this treasure house, the Bible?" Oh, how the world would be different if more leaders publicly pronounced the same views! But I want to leave you with an excerpt from her Christmas broadcast in 1981, which I'm sure will give you courage: We generally know what is right and how we should act and speak. But we are also very aware of how difficult it is to have the courage of our convictions. Our Christian faith helps us to sustain those convictions. Christ not only revealed to us the truth in his teachings. He lived by what he believed and gave us the strength to try to do the same — and, finally, on the cross, he showed the supreme example of physical and moral courage. That sacrifice was the dawn of Christianity, and this is why at Christmas time we are inspired by the example of Christ as we celebrate his birth. | | | | You're receiving this email because of your interaction with Louisiana Family Forum and/or Louisiana Family Forum Action.
