Dear Friends

My friend, Rep. Rick Edmonds, reached out and asked that I pass along this message:

A Word From My Friend, Rep. Rick Edmonds

“I hope you’re doing well. Once again, we find ourselves helping our communities deal with a crisis situation. It certainly can be taxing dealing with the level of devastation that we have felt over the past couple of years, not to mention the challenges and abrupt situations we are all having to face as a result of Covid-19.

With this in mind, I am asking for your help for my colleagues in the legislature. Every year at this time Louisiana Family Forum hosts a great event - the Legislative Awards Gala - for pro-family votes in the Legislature. I have contacted Gene Mills and requested that the event not be canceled because of Ida, but modified to respect the moment that we find ourselves in. It is my belief that many of my colleagues and community leaders could use an evening of hope and encouragement. During tough times, we all need to be reminded of the good news.

As Master of Ceremonies, I have asked Gene if we could reach out to all members of the Legislature and invite them to attend this night dedicated to Hope. I thought it would be an amazing gesture that those of us that are set to be recognized would be the ones that reach out across all aisles, honoree or not, and request their attendance.

It is my hope and prayer that this Night of Hope would serve as a refresher for many.

If you are willing, I am asking you to make a few phone calls and send a few texts. We feel this moment is for all elected officials and should be well attended."   - Rep. Rick Edmonds

Contact your lawmaker and invite them to join you as our special guest, Thursday Sept 23 at HPC Arena!

The Louisiana Association of Business & Industry (LABI) has a problem with President Biden’s vaccine mandate, and they are warning of the damage it will do to Louisiana’s economy.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, Louisiana businesses need help, not hostility.

We hope Governor Edwards will think twice before doubling down on the president’s mandates.

A Canadian ethics professor gave one final lesson in a powerful video to her class before being terminated, and the lesson ended in tears.

Dr. Julie Ponesse taught at Ontario’s Huron University College for 20 years, but after choosing to not comply with the university’s vaccine mandate, was dismissed.

Within 12 hours of releasing her video lesson, YouTube removed it.

Every citizen stating, “I will not comply" or "I respectfully dissent” needs our encouragement and prayer right now!

Justice Breyer of the Supreme Court of the United States shocked some fellow liberals recently when he warned, “what goes around comes around.”

Justice Breyer made the remarks with regard to progressives’ push to “pack” the Supreme Court with liberal justices by adding seats. Breyer has also warned that such a move would “erode” public trust in the Supreme Court which is “guided by legal principle, not politics.”

Perhaps more moderates and independents will wake up to the dangerous future progressives have in store for our country after hearing Justice Breyer’s message.

Friends, I know many of you may be wondering about how to continue focusing on recovery efforts here in Louisiana while not losing track of what’s going on politically at the national level.

I hope these snapshots keep you “in the know” about what’s at stake for Louisiana families.

In His Service,

Gene Mills
President, Louisiana Family Forum

P.S. The LFF Gala, aka the Night of Hope, is on at the HPC Arena on Sept 23rd from 6-9 pm, so secure your seat now!
