Dear Friends,

During Saturday’s primary election, Republican Attorney General Jeff Landry secured the governor’s seat with a decisive 52% of the vote, beating out 14 other candidates and flipping the office from Democrat to Republican.

Louisiana leadership now comes into focus! The Republicans' sweeping victory in the governor’s race, predicted to go to a run-off, says that Louisiana is ready to move beyond the reset and into reform. Republicans now control all elected chambers of government in the Pelican state, and await further reinforcements in the November 18th runoffs.

Other conservative stalwarts won outright, including State Reps. Rick Edmonds of Baton Rouge, Valarie Hodges of Denham Springs, Blake Miguez of Erath and Alan Seabaugh of Shreveport. The Senate is now decidedly conservative and under a reform mandate!

Further, Republicans Lance Harris and Paul Hollis secured decisive victories with 75% of the vote for BESE seats on the state's highest education board.

Liz Murrill, a conservative deputy of Attorney General Jeff Landry, will compete against Democrat Lindsey Cheek, a political newcomer and trial lawyer from New Orleans in the November runoff election for Louisiana's attorney general.

Similarly, the contests for Secretary of State and Treasurer are up for grabs, but Republicans Nancy Landry and John Fleming are likely to prevail on November 18th.

Election turnout was low at 35.8%, down from the 46% in the primary four years ago. The good news is that these election results indicate strong momentum for conservative success as we head into the upcoming elections!

LFF has begun an initiative in conjunction with our friends at Baker Printing to support a newly passed Louisiana law which requires the posting of our National Motto in every Louisiana school classroom! We believe that respect for our nation's motto, "In God We Trust," is essential for a well-rounded education and facilitates the Reset for Louisiana students and schools spoken of earlier.

To achieve this goal, we are launching a Classroom to Classroom campaign to provide 1,750 Louisiana schools with a package of 12 x 18 inch “In God We Trust" posters free of charge! These posters are intended to be placed in every classroom, ensuring that every child encounters our nation's motto every single day throughout Louisiana. It's a small but significant step in nurturing a sense of legacy and connectedness which is foundational to this great nation.

You can be a part of this initiative by making a donation of $57.50 which covers the cost of equipping each school with 50 posters and a letter of explanation & encouragement from the author of the new law, Rep. Dodie Horton, and Louisiana State School Superintendent Cade Brumley!

Your generous contribution will directly impact the education and values of Louisiana students. Consider the impact of a gift of $575, which reaches 10 schools, or $5,750, which touches lives in 100 schools. No gift is too small, and each gift brings us closer to reaching impressionable youth!

To make your donation, please consider how many schools you would like to impact:  1, 10, 50 or 100+ schools.

Please visit our website to donate. Your support will help us put Louisiana's new law into action, ensuring that "In God We Trust" is proudly displayed in every classroom across our state.

Together as the faith community, and as believers in a brighter future for every child, we can impact education in Louisiana. Thank you for your continued support, and may God bless you and the great state of Louisiana!

While conflict continues between Israel and Hamas terrorists, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is scheduled to conduct a confirmation hearing on Wednesday for Biden nominee Jack Lew. He is being considered for the role of the United States' next ambassador to Israel despite significant concerns, including his backing of the Iran nuclear deal.

During his tenure as the U.S. Treasury Secretary under the Obama administration, Lew oversaw the implementation of sanctions relief for Iran as part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. In this accord, Iran committed to temporarily halt its nuclear weapons development in exchange for the removal of U.S. economic sanctions.

Iran is suspected of playing a role in the planning and financing of the brutal terrorist attacks conducted by Hamas on Israel.

President Joe Biden made the nomination of Jack Lew as ambassador to Israel on September 5. For good reason, this nomination faced significant opposition, even before the attacks by Hamas on Israel.

The Daily Signal outlines everything you need to know about Lew here

Friends, Saturday’s election was a major victory for Louisiana families and the faith community. Thank you to everyone who participated and shared our voter guide! Continue to use our voter guide as you prepare to cast a vote informed by biblical principles in the general election.
