Dear Friends

Today at 3pm, Governor John Bel Edwards will address his expiring emergency order and mask mandate. Will the mandate go forward or cease and desist? I hope for the sake of unity, sanity, and all that Louisiana values that this is the end of mandates.

Also, here’s a quick fact-check on another potential pending "federal-mandate:” Forcing a one-size-fits-all answer is not medicine, it's governmental tyranny. Enough already with the mandates! Click to view the video.

“Dads on Duty” are Louisiana proud!

After a string of violence and 23 arrests at Southwood High School in Shreveport, a group of 40 dads got together and formed the “Dads on Duty” patrol to create a positive presence at school.

Since the dads showed up – not a single incident of violence has occurred!

Michael LaFitte, the founder of Dads on Duty, said, "We're dads. We decided the best people who can take care of our kids are who? Are us."

Their example demonstrates how important it is for children and young adults to have fathers in their lives.

We keep hearing that the several trillion-dollar spending packages are supposed to help the country “Build Back Better,” but how is that possible when the legislation negatively impacts working families?

From The Daily Signal:

President Joe Biden promised that he wouldn’t raise taxes on anyone making less than $400,000, but Congress’ official nonpartisan scorekeepers said his plan would raise taxes on millions of middle-class families.

Beginning in 2023, taxes would rise for almost 6 million taxpayers that make less than $100,000. By 2027, more than half of all families earning between $75,000 and $100,000 would pay more in taxes. Taxes would even rise on hundreds of thousands of families making less than $20,000 a year.

It seems that “Build Back Better” will leave Louisiana families worse off.

Ochsner, the largest health system in Louisiana, is in hot water – and rightfully so.

Weeks ago, Ochsner announced penalties for the unvaccinated and that health insurance costs would rise for employees whose spouses remain “unvaccinated.” Then, last week, a 16 year-old student at East Jefferson High School received the COVID-19 “vaccine” at an Ochsner mobile vaccination clinic – without parental consent. Wow...this mandate madness needs to end!

Personal autonomy and parental rights are paramount in medical decision-making. A mandatory, one-size-fits-all approach is not medicine, it's madness. Even if this was an unintentional mistake, it demonstrates how parental rights have become an after-thought under emergency orders.

Friends, It takes a lot of energy and effort to sift through the deceptive headlines promoted by the radical left and mainstream media, but only the truth will set you free!

I am continuing to pray that even more Louisiana families will join the fight for faith and freedom.

In His Service,

Gene Mills
