Dear Friends

Senator Kennedy contemplates...

I’ve spent my life and career serving the people of Louisiana. Becky and I raised our family here and are so proud to call it home. But we can’t deny that our great state is facing serious challenges. To meet those challenges, Louisiana families deserve a governor who can lead our state and help solve our toughest problems.

"Over the last year, Louisianians have asked me time and time again to come home to serve as governor during these difficult times. Becky and I love the people of Louisiana. We’ve always listened to them, so I am giving serious consideration to entering the governor’s race. I’ll be announcing my decision soon.” - US Senator
John Kennedy on prospective run for governor

The newly emboldened Democrat-run Senate is moving forward to fast-track a redefinition of marriage bill that would expand the 2015 Obergefell Supreme Court ruling and enshrine a skewed definition of marriage into federal law.

The Senate is expected to vote on the bill Wednesday and a cloture vote today. Today’s vote will indicate whether they have the votes to amend marriage once again.

Unless saner voices intervene!

Ironically, the unity once called for after a national election will give way to a hurry-up offense to allow a lame duck Senate to impose its LGBT political agenda before the newly elected Congress replaces them in January 2023!

If passed, the same-sex marriage bill will:

  • Threaten religious individuals and organizations with harassing and costly lawsuits.
  • Open the door for the federal government to force everyone, including religious organizations, to affirm same-sex marriage, polygamy, and more.
  • Shut down faith-based adoption and foster-care agencies, which would be a devastating blow to the many children already in need of placement in forever homes.
  • Silencing—or even potentially punishing—Americans who believe marriage is the union of one man and one woman by labeling that belief as “discrimination” on the same unacceptable level as racist views. Include polygamy in the definition of marriage.

If Senate Democrats secure just 10 Republicans to support this D.C. takeover of marriage, the bill will pass. A bipartisan group of Senators has been working on amendment language that claims to fix the religious freedom concerns, but their “compromise” does nothing substantive to address the very real threats to religious freedom in the bill.

Request HERE that Senators Cassidy and Kennedy VOTE NO on any version of the same-sex marriage act even with well-intentioned amendments!

Since last Tuesday, conservatives have debated where the GOP went wrong in the elections since there was merely a red "trickle" as opposed to a red wave.

Senator-elect JD Vance (R-OH) penned an op-ed amidst the discussions, titled, "Don't Blame Trump."

Vance writes that "any effort to blame Trump—or [Senate Minority Leader Mitch] McConnell for that matter—ignores a major structural advantage for Democrats: money.” His statement refers to the fact that Democrats outspent Republicans on average 7-1 in tightly contested Senate races. The Daily Signal also highlighted a tweet demonstrating the discrepancy in spending between the parties.

Friend,, it’s easy to get impatient about election results, anxious about what this means for the country we love and, nervous about world affairs. Let’s practice our faith - turn to Christ with our petition and concerns and trust that He redeems what He allows!
“It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in a king.” Psalms 118: 8-9 NKJV
