If you didn’t see the news last night, the US Supreme Court officially blocked the Biden administration’s shot mandate for employers! While SCOTUS disappointingly let the mandate for healthcare workers stand, LFF is proud to have been part of the defense of religious freedom against the OSHA mandate and capably represented by LFF Advisory Board member & lead plaintiff Brandon Trosclair. See LFF amicus brief here.
The Court did not look favorably on a clear attempt to bypass Congress and to force people to choose between the mandate and their livelihoods. In blocking the Biden mandate, a majority of the Court reasoned:
“The question before us is not how to respond to the pandemic, but who holds the power to do so. The answer is clear: Under the law as it stands today, that power rests with the States and Congress, not OSHA.”
LFF wholeheartedly agrees!
The past year has brought many challenges…but united, we have risen to meet the challenge! Godspeed as we engage and defend forward!
Brandon’s victory is perfectly timed given that this Sunday, January 16th, is National Religious Freedom Day. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our nation’s founding documents which prioritized religious liberty as an inalienable right.
While the SCOTUS victory was huge, the fight lives on: this week, a government agency announced that it will begin collecting the “personal religious information” of employees who refuse the COVID vaccine for religious reasons. Some speculate that this could serve as a way for DC bureaucrats to use personal religious data for political purposes against religious Americans.
LFF will always fight to defend your rights.
The irreligious left has spawned a dangerous movement to normalize pedophilia, and one of the nation’s largest newspapers has joined in. USA Today published an article describing pedophilia as “misunderstood” and diminishing it as merely “inappropriate” thoughts.
The article even quotes Allyn Walker, a former Old Dominion University professor who caused much controversy after defending pedophilia. Walker promoted “destigmatizing pedophilia” and called for people to rebrand pedophiles as “minor-attracted persons.”
As we know, the language that we use is extremely important. The way we describe and discuss certain issues ultimately determines our cultural values. We must call things what they are. Adult/child sexual attraction is unacceptable, and must be condemned for what it is: a perversion of God's design.
A special announcement from Louisiana Family Forum:
We want to honor couples in Louisiana who are role models for upholding the sacred institution of marriage for decades upon decades! Marriage is a sacred institution created by God. Without it, we would not have strong families to form the foundation of our society.
LFF is in search of Louisiana’s longest married couple so that they may share their story of commitment. Every year we highlight this couple to help build a culture that values and respects marriage. If you think that you or someone you know may be the longest married couple in the state, please fill out a submission form. We can’t wait to honor you and hear your story!
Friends, today, we thank God for His victory!
Let us offer thanksgiving for this religious freedom win, and double-down with our resolve to keep fighting for His glory.
