What could we do?

What must we do?

What should we do?

“The last few hours of peace on the European continent for a long time to come.” That's what a US Pentagon official told a reporter just hours before Russia launched their invasion into Ukraine - the largest invasion in Europe since WWII.

The United States can (has the power) to do pretty much anything. We are not technically obligated to do anything yet. But what should we do? 

As a nation, there are several options to consider. As Christians, we must intercede in the ways we can, praying for our brothers and sisters (78% of Ukrainian adults are Orthodox Christians), seeking help for victims, and correctly identify the true enemy: Satan.

Let’s pray for peace in Ukraine and our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Spanish Town Historic District (STHD) has chosen a "theme" for its Mardi Gras parade this Saturday. The STHD board members voted to support the annual parade, but condemned the “Porn Again Flamingoes” theme. 

The effort is a dig on the Christian phrase “born again” and notes the event’s return after it was canceled due to the pandemic last year. Mardi Gras parades, often decadent, still attract families and young children who frankly do not care for nor embrace such themes. 

“I do not want to have to sit there and be worried that my kids are going to be inundated with something that is way more mature than something they should be inundated with,” said one resident of Spanish Town. 

Making light of an evil, like pornography, is simply foolish. Spanish Town Board Officials owe the Capital City area an apology as well as assurances that the grown-ups will be in charge next year.

Texas AG Ken Paxton announced that gender-altering procedures are child abuse.

"There is no doubt that these procedures are 'abuse' under Texas law, and thus must be halted," said Paxton. 

He argues that gender reassignment procedures cause permanent infertility, and children have neither the maturity nor the legal capacity to provide an “informed-consent” to make such a life-changing decision. 

Gender reassignment procedures ultimately mutilate healthy bodies, cause psychological and emotional derangement, and affirm dangerous lies. 

Paxton is absolutely correct. What say you, Governor John B. Edwards?

In 2021, the percentage of parents living with their children fell to 40% from 48% in 2001. 

Children desperately need, and have an absolute right to, the direct involvement of both of a mom and a dad in their lives. 

Children suffer immensely when one or both parents are missing and data consistently shows that children are most likely to thrive when they are living with married parents. The vast majority of societal ills are connected to the breakdown of the traditional family. 

The traditional family structure was designed by God to support well-being. As we deviate from this plan, we will all experience the consequences - but mostly the children.

Friends, God has entrusted us with the care of His creation and children are among those responsibilities. Unfortunately, there is much evil in our world which threatens harm. Let’s commit to doing everything in our power to bring the light, be the change maker and expose evil when encountered and urge our government leaders to do the same. 

Please join me in praying for God’s protection over Ukraine, the families and children and for parents here in the Capital City to act responsibly and in the best interest of the children.
