Forces on the left have been urging Governor Edwards to veto the proposed congressional redistricting map, and he followed through. Governor Edwards vetoed the map Wednesday because it did not add a minority-populated district. Now, the question is: what happens next? The answer? The Senate President and Speaker of the House will advance a substantively similar measure, and if vetoed again, a veto override session is doable in this session while lawmakers are in Baton Rouge. LFF Predictions? Republicans win on this one. |

Every year, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) targets Christian and conservative organizations, labeling them our friends in their “Hate Map” and “The Year in Hate and Extremism” reports. Groups such as American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds), Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), and the Family Research Council (FRC) are all included on the SPLC’s list, and in reality, are far from “hate groups.” They work to protect children and fundamental rights. Slander is an intentional strategy to harm Christian organizations and take away potential sources of donor funding. Amazon has removed Christian organizations from its platform because SPLC labeled them as “hate groups.” D. James Kennedy Ministries (DJKM), an evangelical Christian champion is suing SPLC and Amazon for religious discrimination and defamation. DJKM appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court after two lower courts blocked the case. Please pray that the U.S. Supreme Court hears the case and that respect for religious freedom is restored in our nation. |

From the National Review: "On the menu today: It sounds absurd, but it’s true — Vladimir Putin is now running the Communist revolutionaries’ playbook on foreign investment, foreign assets, and foreign debts. History tells us this is a quick path to a massive economic calamity, but Putin appears willing to commit economic suicide in order to bring his vision of a conquered Ukraine to fruition." Time will tell the fates of Putin and Russia. Let's continue to pray for all of those suffering as a result of this conflict. |

Friends, thousands of Ukrainians fled to other parts of the world this past week and many have nowhere to stay. The total number of refugees has reached 2.1-2.2 million since the beginning of Russia’s invasion. As Christians, we are called to help those in need. You can donate through Samaritan's Purse, which has deployed a field hospital inside Ukraine, and Mercy Chefs, who are providing food and water to refugees. |
