June 23, 2023

Friends,

This Saturday, June 24th, marks the one-year anniversary of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health, the Supreme Court decision which ended the infamous Roe v. Wade mistake and sent the life issue back to the states!

Today, LFF’s Leadership Academy celebrated the birthday of Dobbs at the steps of the US Supreme Court! (a few of our kids were still in the Court listening to proceedings and not available for the picture).

Immediately after Roe was overturned, Louisiana’s pro-life trigger law went into effect effectively ending abortion in our state, while other states quickly passed laws to restrict abortion. In Louisiana, abortion is virtually banned, meaning thousands of lives have been saved thanks to Dobbs.

According to FiveThirtyEight's calculations, there was a huge decrease in abortions per month between July 2022 and March 2023 in comparison to the pre-Dobbs reference period.

More than 25 states have taken significant steps to protect the pre-born, and tens of thousands of children in our nation are alive today because Roe v. Wade was overturned. This is a tremendous pro-life victory, and one that is worth celebrating and thanking God for on the anniversary of the Dobbs decision.

According to a recent report released by the Biden administration, individuals who identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual are at a significantly higher risk of experiencing major depression, engaging in illegal drug abuse, and attempting suicide.

While the report acknowledges the existence of these disparities, it falls short in providing clear explanations for the underlying reasons. It begins by attributing these issues to LGBT "sexual orientation-based discrimination, bisexual invisibility and erasure, and a lack of bisexual-affirmative support,” a claim that critics argue is based on flawed scientific reasoning and fails to address the true factors contributing to their mental distress.

“A higher prevalence of substance use and mental health issues has been well-documented among people who identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual (also referred to as sexual minorities) than among those who identify as heterosexual or straight,” notes the report.

The LGBT lifestyle leads to poorer mental health outcomes, but not for the reasons the Biden administration wants you to believe. Rejecting God’s good design always leads to suffering.

Gender affirmation and pride celebrations are not the answer to this mental health crisis. Rather, as Peter LaBarbera, founder and president of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality said, “This is the moment for the Christian remnant to shine in a dying culture, all the while giving hope to the sin-addicted by pointing out that there is a better way to live: God’s way through the grace and power of Jesus Christ.”

During a national library conference, a speaker provided instructions to school and public librarians on concealing controversial books, particularly those related to gender identity, sexual orientation, and race from parents and community members.

An instructor at the University of South Carolina conducted a seminar at Library 2.0's national "Banned Books and Censorship" conference, focusing on the management of LGBT content in libraries. Fort suggested various precautions, including avoiding the use of "identity" labels such as "LGBTQIA+" or "Gay Fiction" on books.

“Aside from being bad practice, it makes it too easy for parents or community members to find those kinds of books,” Fort said. “We have plenty of examples of book challenges, book banning [and] things being put out on social media by people that aren’t even a part of a certain library community. So that will help make it very hard for that to happen.”

Parents have every right to know exactly what their children are being exposed to. Further, protecting their children from propaganda and dangerous ideas is their duty. Teachers and librarians have no business hiding these books from parents.

Friendsas we thank God for answering our prayers with the Dobbs decision, let’s also take a moment to pray for all the women experiencing crisis pregnancies and for the safety of their children. As pro-lifers, our job isn’t done until abortion is not only illegal everywhere, but unthinkable. Only the truth shared in love can change every heart and mind.
