Friends,

Conservative lawmakers in various state legislatures have initiated a movement to sever ties between local libraries and the woke American Library Association.

LFF did assist in the passage of Sen. Heather Cloud’s SB 7 which protects children by bringing regulatory reform to adult sexual content in public libraries. Some Louisiana librarians fought us every step of the way!

The ALA recently elected a hard-left LGBT activist as their leader, and conservative groups, like LFF, are concerned by the Association's defense of aberrant and sexually-explicit materials being promoted among children. Emily Drabinski, the newly elected president of the ALA, publicly described herself as a "Marxist lesbian who believes that collective power is possible to build and can be wielded for a better world."

On July 27th, the Louisiana Freedom Caucus (LAFC) announced that it is joining other State Freedom Caucus Network states in expressing disapproval of the ALA electing a new president who openly identifies as a "lesbian Marxist." LAFC is calling for the Louisiana Library Association to sever ties with the American Library Association.

Hopefully, Louisiana will join the nine states that have formally cut ties with the ALA’s radicalism!

Congresswoman Ashley Hinson from Iowa has recently proposed a comprehensive bill aimed at providing support to families and encouraging women to choose life for their preborn children.

In the U.S. House of Representatives, Representative Hinson introduced the "Providing for Life Act," and in the U.S. Senate, Senator Marco Rubio from Florida introduced a companion bill with the same objectives.

The proposed initiatives seek to assist parents by offering more choices and flexibility for paid parental leave, expanding eligibility for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program to include postpartum women, and introducing reforms to child support that would encourage states to require fathers to contribute towards women's pregnancy costs. The bill would also expand the Child Tax Credit (CTC) to include unborn children.

The measure must now garner support in a divided Senate. This measure is what the pro-life movement is about– empowering families to care for children and choose life for the unborn

New research shows that an increasing number of Americans are identifying as social conservatives.

According to recent polls by Gallup, the percentage of individuals identifying as "very conservative" or "conservative" on social issues has increased to 38%, a significant rise from 33% in 2022 and 30% in 2021– an eight-point increase in just two years.

Conversely, there has been a decline in the number of people identifying as "very liberal" or "liberal" on social issues, dropping to 29% from 34% in the past two years. The majority of respondents, 31%, now identify as moderate on social issues.

In addition, there has been a significant increase in state legislators switching parties this year, reaching twice the average observed over the past 30 years, according to Ballotpedia. Thankfully, Democrats are waking up and rejecting the moral corruption of their party.

This year, five D’s have switched from the Democrat to the Republican party, including Louisiana State Representatives Francis Thompson and Jeremy LaCombe.

Encouraging news! So-called “progressives” have pushed a radical agenda, and a growing number of Americans are responding by embracing more socially conservative views.

Friends, it’s not too late for an American awakening to recover from the moral depravity we’ve find ourselves in. It’s a good sign that the vast majority (74%) of America recognizes that the state of moral values in our country is unhealthy. Imagine what may transpire if, in the midst of foundations being destroyed, we turn our hearts to the Father’s plan!
