Friends,

I’ve got some great news to thank you for.

Louisiana was named the 2022 recipient of Family Policy Alliance’s Save Girls’ Sports Award. The award was given in honor of our efforts to protect female sports from being dominated by gender-confused men. The Louisiana Family Forum was pleased to have led this effort along with legislative leaders like Senator Beth Mizell.

Craig DeRoche, President and CEO of Family Policy Alliance, said of the award, “At a time when much of the news we hear is about the challenges our nation is facing, the reality is there is much good work happening to protect children and families around the nation. Louisiana has been an outstanding example of that this year, going above and beyond to make their state a better place for families.”

LFF depends on your support to continue defending the family! Thank you!

Students and parents in states across the country have won more educational freedom. After years of lockdowns and leftist indoctrination, parents and students are fighting back to choose the best school for them.

Millions of schoolchildren across the United States are starting the academic year off with more access to school choice than ever before following hard-fought wins in courtrooms, state legislatures , and at the ballot box,” the Washington Examiner reported. This includes Arizona’s new law, which “lets every parent in Arizona take the money the state sends to the K-12 public school system and use it for their children's school tuition or other educational costs.” This is a goal that Louisiana must pursue!

Every child learns differently, and every parent has the right to direct their children’s education. With further effort to expand school choice, Louisiana can become an even better place for families.

The doors are being closed and the windows boarded on all three abortion facilities left in the state. The abortion industry cannot survive thanks to the hard work of all of you and thousands of other pro-life activists to stop the killing of innocent babies.

“Louisiana’s last three abortion clinics will relocate to other states, staff confirmed, after a Louisiana Supreme Court ruling Friday allowed the state’s near-total abortion ban to remain in effect,” WWNO reported. Let’s hope they get lost along the way and never reopen anywhere.

Our work is not finished in this war though. Please help us lay the groundwork for increasing the Respect Life Ethic in Louisiana by securing your sponsorship for the September 20th LFF Awards Gala!

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch, the woman who led the charge to the US Supreme Court to get Roe v. Wade overturned, will be our keynote speaker!

Friends, let us remember that we are all made in the image and likeness of God from the very beginning!

So God created man in His own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27

Each of us is part of the body of Christ. Let us pray for wisdom in how to use our gifts to glorify Him!

In His Service,

Gene Mills

P.S. On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) will be asked to accept a draft copy of suggested changes to standards for Early Childhood Education which would be implemented throughout our state.

Concerns about the new standards related to how very young children would be taught to view themselves, their culture, and their community have been raised. Many parents and others concerned with education in our state are unaware of these proposed changes. Additional time and public input are necessary to ensure that these new standards would be best for the children and families of Louisiana.
